Nepenthes Guide 2018 Upgrade: In Situ Species Photos

Happy New Year!
To celebrate the start of 2018, I’ve upgraded my Nepenthes Interactive Guide with a frequently-requested feature: species photographs. To try it out, simply enter your chosen species into the calculator, and click on the thumbnails to see high-resolution images. For each photo, the photographer’s name is displayed in the caption.

I’ll update this list as I get new contributors. Note that for a couple of popular species which weren’t covered in these photo collections, I’ve featured Creative Commons licensed photos by Alastair Robinson and Stewart McPherson. Where possible (and appropriate), I’ve endeavored to create composite images which illustrate the morphological differences between a species’ lower and upper pitchers.
You’ll quickly notice that I’ve not yet added photos of all 150+ species. I intend to continually expand the selection, but to do this I’ll need help from more people who’ve photographed Nepenthes in the wild. If you’d like to contribute, please get in touch via email.

I've been growing carnivorous plants for over 2 decades, having been fascinated by these plants since I got my first Venus flytrap at age 10. I now have a large greenhouse to house my collection and am an avid breeder of Nepenthes pitcher plants.
