Nepenthes burbidgeae

N. burbidgeae is one of the classic Bornean Nepenthes species, famous for its huge, porcelain-coloured pitchers attractively speckled with red and pink stripes. This is a highland species which is particularly adaptable to warmer conditions than many other highlanders from Borneo.

Here I’m offering some small plants originally from Christian Klein’s nursery, grown from seed collected on Mount Tambuyukon. The first photo shows a pitcher on a mature plant of this species in cultivation. The next two photos show typical sale plants, which are about 6-8cm in diameter and will be sent potted. For cultivation advice, see my Nepenthes Growing Guide.
